stolidly, consistently, wonderful

Alber Elbaz doesn't need a recession to jolt him into making something wonderful. In fact, the Lanvin prefall collection amped up on the glitz, instead of looking more austere, and not in a Marie Antoinette way either.

I've been a fan of Alber Elbaz since his days at YSL.Yes YSL!We often forget he did a stint there before an avid follower of his, Mrs.Shaw, propulsed him into Lanvin and superstardom. He's the perfect designer. My jaw always drops at the sight of a Lanvin collection.
This pics you've chosen are proof of the man's genious and intelligence. He's given Lanvin back its identity.Of glamour and mystery!

I do remember his YSL days, to me he did a wonderful, unpretentious job of being respectful to the legacy of YSL without becoming a slave to it. I like Stefano Pilati's approach too but Mr Elbaz has an ease that imitable.
