I aspire to certain designs because they speak to the grown-up side of me, the side of me that would like to be polished and mysterious and can wear high heels without looking petrified and can have dinner alone in a posh restaurant without feeling self-conscious. YSL speaks to that side of me - it's elegant, but without the mannered feel of say, a Valentino or Chanel suit. I wish Stefano Pilati would lighten up a bit but I'm not complaining about a prefall collection that's full of beautiful things which will add to any a wardrobe.
