the list - #65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70

I LOVE bags. It's right up there with my desire for jeans and t-shirts - I'm promiscuous with them, and I can never seem to get enough. Hence, all the bags that make the list need to be described in loving detail.

I've been more disciplined in recent years about what bags are worth spending my very finite, hard earned funds on, and it's partly thanks to the bright blue Longchamp my older sister bought for me.

It is supremely practical, chic, classic, and well-priced, and because Longchamp has been making them since forever, I don't worry that I can't replace it when I wear mine out.

My beloved Grey Agnés B was the precursor to the Longchamp, and it's a spectacularly hardy bag - the material and the workmanship of the bag is actually superior to the Longchamp and there are just enough compartments to keep things organised. Unfortunately, it's a light grey and really dirty because I er, am kind of a slob.

Agnés B makes a version every season, but unfortunately, I don't like any of the new colour combinations, though I should certainly keep the black one in mind.

There's my Mulberry Bayswater, once described to me as the poor man's Hermés Birkin, but I disagree, probably because I never formed that association in my head when I first laid eyes on it.

I have lusted after it since my student days and taking advantage of the low GBP, I finally bought one. (I bought the tan one for my older sister for her birthday, and look forward to borrowing it from time to time). I thought perhaps the tan one would be a better investment, but when I saw this, I thought it was too awesome to pass up. It's still classic, but a bit of edge, and while it seems flashy, it hasn't been that way at all. For once, I wanted something that was a stunner, and not just practical. (I might still buy the tan one eventually, just because.)

I prefer carrying all manner of things around with me - a book, water, sweater, sweets - but I have room in my life for smaller bags too.

I found this vintage saddle bag with a long strap below in Amsterdam, finally fulfilling my desire for a saddle bag. I remember my mum used to carry bags like these when I was a child and I thought carrying a bag messanger-style was so practical.

I still think it's a great way to carry a bag, but I've never found a large one I can use for work that I liked.

This Topshop bag is one of my best buys ever from Topshop. It's the exact colour of plain chocolate (food descriptors are always a winner) and it's roomier than it looks, though unfortunately, just a tad small for work. The design is distinctive but not showy, and it's one of things that age beautifully.

Last of all, my fringed purse! It goes from day to night and something about all that fringe just cheers me up and it makes any outfit a little more festive. It is also the only bag I have that is suitable for evenings and I like the way it skews any formal thing I put on.

My bags are one of the few aspects of my wardrobe where I can say I am reasonably fulfilled and I think I'm not tempted easily, though I'm always looking out for more. I still crave a Balenciaga Lariat and the now extinct YSL Mombasa, and keep me away from Bottega Veneta before I do something stupid, but this is at least one area of my wardrobe where I can say with confidence I act with discipline.
