I've found Chanel ready to wear to be pretty whatever lately, but the stuff Karl Lagerfeld is doing for haute couture is still pretty spectacular. The latest collection doesn't seem to be designed with the red carpet in mind (I got that vibe from the Armani Prive show), and there were all these beautiful suits and dresses done that managed to be both rigorous and exuberant - light and substantial - at the same time. And as everyone paying attention to the shows have pointed out, they were all worn with flats, which makes a flattie-girl like me very happy, because suddenly all these looks - utterly out of my reach - seem a little more attainable. I say "seem", because well, they're not.
