a moveable feast

I've been busy celebrating my birthday (self-absorbed, much?) and all anyone needs to know about it is that everyone should try an artichoke like that at least once in their lives.

Will resume blogging when I recover from all the gastronomic glory.

Aww.... Happy Birthday! I hope you are enjoying your birthday celebrations (I don't think it's self absorbed at all). Birthdays deserve to be celebrated.

I love artichoke!

Happy Birthday!

Happy b-day fellow cancerian! Mine is in 3 days and wish there are artichokes as grand as the one are eating to be part of my birthday feast. That has got to be the largest artichoke I've ever seen! Must be the singaporean warm humidity.
Hope you had a very lovely celebration.

A very happy birthday! Conquering an artichoke like that may very well find its way onto a bucket list dedicated to food.

Thanks everyone for the the birthday wishes, and that artichoke was better (okay almost better) than any birthday cake I got this year!

Pret a Porter P: Happy birthday to you too!

Wendy: I hope you had a great birthday! The artichoke is apparently from Brittany - they must have having a very interesting harvest.

Kate: Thanks! Until the woman from the restaurant serving us waved a fresh one under my nose (she kept on the counter just for display purposes), neither had I! It was too cute to pass up - I had only seen little ones in the supermarket, or pickled ones sliced over pizzas and in sandwiches...
