aisle matters
Between, work, celebrating my birth, and being an active participant of a dear friend's wedding (as bridesmaid, which includes: hen night festivities, tea ceremony logistics, 'gatecrashing' planning, wedding playlist control freak etc) taking place this weekend, I haven't much time to blog, although I've found time to enjoy the posts of all my favourite bloggers. So I offer up a lame post of my outfit for the wedding dinner.
The bride was cool with guests wearing white/cream, so I decided to shave my legs and give my lovely meringue Vanessa Bruno dress a much-deserved flutter. Shoes were a bit of a problem - my favourite option for this dress is usually flat sandals but I didn't have an appropriate pair for a formal dinner. I hadn't had time for a pedicure either. In the end, I went for my sister's trusty leopard heels. This is the third or fourth time I've borrowed them for one formal occasion or other. Should have bought a pair of my own, but hey, borrowing is free.
(If I find a good shot of myself in the PURPLE (!!!) bridesmaids' dress, I promise to post it. Just for laughs.)
**EDIT: I wanted to say that my heart goes out to Norway after the bombing and shooting - shocking, bewildering and heartbreaking.

You pulled out a really classy outfit with leopard heels, that's not as easy as it might seem. Leopard is one of those trends that pretty much everybody loved which lead to the creation of lots of items with that print but very few actually worked, those shoes are definitely one of the few pieces that nailed it. Zara did a pair of pony hair loafers with leo print that I regret so much not buying...
Hope you enjoy the wedding. There is always so much to do when your a bridesmaid, but orchestrating the hen night festivities is always fun!
have fun at the wedding - take loads of pictures and SHARE!

Alexandra: Thanks!
Flavia: Thank you! I have those loafers actually, they're beautiful but painful to break in - they've only become comfortable recently. My sis and I agreed that I would buy the loafers and she would buy the heels and we would swap...
Pret a Porter P: Thanks! Hahaha yes I'm still wondering why it's called hen night...will go find out.
miss sophie: Exactly! That why I like the dress - it has all the romance without the fuss, it's easy like a T-shirt.
editor: Thanks!
Lindsay: Thank you, it was a great wedding, and I'm glad to have been there....very few of my close friends are married and it was really one of those rare occasions where everyone comes together for a beautiful celebration.
hannah-rose: Yes it was quite fun to strut around in these, and they're low enough to be comfortable. But I agree I wouldn't do it every day, just not my thing. Your outfit sounds amazing, do post photos!
Chuck: Thanks! I will try to....been too tired to sort out photos...
Ginta: These are one of those truly great Zara buys where the design and quality are actually great. Wish I bought a pair of my own too, but it's just as fun to borrow!

I found your blog on Dead Fleurette and really like your content and the insight that you allow your readers through this content.
I would appreciate your input on something that I just started doing. The goal is to end up with a beautiful, functional and well-adjusted wardrobe. I'm a bit of a nomad, both by nature and by need/career. But I'm also a young professional working in an intellectual/corporate office directly with some high-profile people. I also go on assignments to work with the public
The Wardrobe Reformation needs to happen. I'm a total clothes hoarder, the américaine, and my wardrobe is far too big. This wardrobe needs to be down to a 10th of what it is by next year. That is, before I have to move again, which will be with a roommate in the next city where I work.
Thanks
