wishlist: long and relaxed
I've been of craving for a long grey dress in jersey, but I've also had some hesitations about this because I generally don't do long - I find it on the cumbersome side, and it also seems a little fussy. Plus a long slim dress makes me nervous about my hips (I dress to hide my pear-ish shape)
But looking through the resort collections, I was quite inspired to see how some designers have managed to make long dresses look casual, without going down the hippie lane. I've decided that whatever long dress I buy, it should not have an Empire waist and be excessively flowy, and it should:
a) be in a soft, neutral shade, like this:

left to right: Jenni Kayne; Helmut Lang; Vera Wang
or b) go the extreme and be in bright colour or crazy print, like these:

left to right: 3.1 Phillip Lim; Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche; Jonathan Saunders
*It's terribly obvious that I've discovered Photoshop isn't it? But it's a great way to display pictures without a major scrolldown overload.
