down time
I ate well, drank well, slept well, watched too much Downton Abbey, and had plenty of time to be by myself and be with family and friends. All in all, New Year's was a far more relaxing break than Christmas, and I couldn't think of a better way to transit into 2012. It's going to be a bumpy year ahead, but then what's new?
Hope everyone had a lovely break!

new years should always be about downtime, yet i think that it rarely is, so I'm glad that you had a relaxing break.

I've been hearing great things about Downton Abbey--it's on my must-watch list.

hannah-rose: I can assure that it tasted as good as it looked.
maja H: happy new year to you too!
anon (10.52): It was a bit of a drudge cos I had to work on Christmas. But New Year's was a lovely long weekend.
Aissa: It was a bit frightening to spend so much time watching it that I didn't realise the room had grown dark, haha.
petrichore: It's a wonderfully-plotted show, and like Mad Men, it's beautifully produced - transports you to Edwardian times.
joy: I just watched that last night! It would have been wrenching to get through that part about Bates on Christmas!
It hasn't really sunk in that it's 2012, haha. It feel like it hasn't started but I'm sure the rest of the work week will cure me of this illusion.
I am looking forward to watching downtown abbey Christmas special. I think it'll be one of the the first things I'll do after I arrive in the UK tomorrow :)
