mix master

In a season where everything did a colourful print in one form or another, Dries Van Noten offered the most compelling argument of all - where delicate floaty chiffons were the norm, he offered up sharp, bold, colour-saturated pieces in smart urban shapes.

Some of the pieces had what I'd call 'sarong cool' -
I also like the vaguely kimono-ish jackets -
Others came in the form of the loose shirt-shifts usually done so well at Marni, but far more imaginatively coloured here by Mr Van Noten -
Whatever it was, I just love how everything felt so energetic and exuberant, but efficient and easy at the same time. You wouldn't need to take a deep breath before stepping out int any of these crazily-mixed ensembles because you know you are safe in the hands of someone who knows a thing or two about creating a wonderful clash of patterns and hues.
