countdown to the philippines: 3 days left
As a student, one of my criteria when shopping was that whatever I bought had to pass the flip flop test - it had to be able to be worn with flip flops.
This clause is slightly less applicable these day, but it still comes in. And this means that a lot of my clothes, especially dresses, work quite well in the day for casual things, and are passably respectable for more dressy evenings.
I do miss those days (though working gives me room me to play with more formal items of clothing) where casual was a given. My daily uniform was shorts, flip-flops or flats, and a cute top - trudging around university was a hot, tiring affair after all.
