I'm headed to Europe for a work assignment at the end of the month, and happily, the assignment ends in London, which means I can extend my stay by a few nights to spend some time in one of my favourite cities. I haven't planned anything except to revisit old favourites and check out what's new, and it's just nice to have a couple of days on my own, enjoying a change of scenery.

It's a bit of a relief style-wise, too. Travelling to a colder place means I can tweak how I dress a bit and layer a little more, and wear things like jackets and coats and scarves. No doubt you guys living in the northern hemisphere are thoroughly fed up with cold weather by now, but to tropical folk like me living in 30-degrees celsius weather year-round, a coat seems positively exotic and exciting.

How great! Where else are you going to? I still think that travelling for your Job is just perfect, though my friends who are travelling for work all the time, don't always agree... And I totally understand what you say about layering and scarves, since I really like those "mid-seasons" for dressing best, when it's not terribly cold anymore, but not too hot either. X

how exciting! I was planning a london holiday in june but it hasn't come to pass. If you want any tips I can send you an email with some of my favourite places from the last time I was there! x

I think coat weather in southern England is briskly coming to an close! It was 16 degrees in London yesterday and outerwear was distinctly absent on a lot of people, and even as an Australian I was like "Yay, warm spring weather, time to shed layers!". Although by the end of the month I'm sure layering to some extent will still be appropriate. And knowing how changeable the English weather is, who knows, maybe we'll be plunged back into a cold snap (this time last year it was still snowing). But whatever the weather, it's impossible to not have a good time in London!

Great compromise, being able to mix work with abroad adventures! Quite coincidentally, I'm also planning an April/May getaway and was thinking of dropping by London. I'm crossing fingers the weather remains as splendid as it is now! Sunlight especially is such a wonderful treat!

jess: yes, right after this post i saw all the pictures of sunshine and even flowers blooming. still cold compared to the stifling weather there at home, and i would relieved to travel with a lighter jacket!

aissa: would have been fun if our dates overlapped and we could meet - i debated a day trip to paris to see the dries exhibit but can't decide if it's worth the price of a eurostar return ticket, haha.

I was in London 2 weeks ago and you're right: I'm so fed up with cold weather! I'm now in Nice and temperature-wise this is such a relief, haha...

I hope you will be having a nice time in London anyways... and of course I can somehow understand that wearing coats might be exciting for you ;)

Safe and happy travels! At this stage in my life, I quite enjoy work travel. I know this winter I was lucky that extended work travel to London and Paris meant that I managed to escape the bitter cold.
