It always feels good when you can limit the number of items of clothing to the bare minimum. I also love that these trousers are stretchy enough to practically do yoga in them.
Amanda: Yes those are the Gap skinnies - definitely a good buy. I'm just not an Oxford girl I think - I only manage them when I'm wearing a dress. Wouldn't mind if I could pull off the garconne look better.
heart in a cage, Alexandra, editor, suzie wuzie, pret a porter p, ammu, kate, lindsay k, if jane: Thanks so much, you guys are really lighting my a day that has otherwise been pretty much crapping on me.
miss sophie: Thanks! The bag is a Gucci that belonged to my mum, think my dad bought it for her in the late 80s or early 90s. You can see it here.
ah, love your vintage gucci! it looks so 'now' and practical. by the wey, per your post last week on longchamp...i had a pliage that i loved for about 3 yrs and it has held up incredibly well. no issues. i gave it to my mom recently as she needed a big everyday tote for work. i think part of the quality issues may be due to the fact that longchamp now makes their bags in factories in China as well as in their French factories. i saw two of these bags side by side at Saks recently, and there's a noticeable difference in the thickness of the nylon material in the ones made in France (thicker, like the original Longchamp) vs the ones made in China (thinner, less 'hardy' feeling). just something to think about. they sell both now so it helps to look at the tags before buying...
Love the bag and I bought pants just like these a while ago and haven been living in them. Mine are super stretchy/comfortable as well so... :) Really love the look!
I love this look but I am definitely an oxford girl. I have waaaay too many :) I may have to check out the Gap pants, I have been looking for ages but these might be just the ticket.
I love this - it's so great when a person can wear such a simple combination but not look remotely boring - just chic and confident in their skin. I have yet to master this - I tend to look on the dull side!! Love your white tee too. x
theepitomeofquiet: It's so nice to have stretchy trousers that don't look like leggings - sometimes I need something less constricting than jeans.
la fille mal gardee: I bought two pairs and stopped, realising they weren't my thing. These Gapo trousers are pretty good - my only issue is that the waistband cld sit a little flatter at the front - it's a little thick at where the buckle is.
Fashion Tidbits: Thanks!
Olivia: Thanks! I have stopped feeling underdressed for the most part, unless it's a work event and I look unprofessional - that I try to adhere to convention!

You look fantastic. An outfit so simple and well cut, you can't fault it.
miss sophie: I didn't know you cld still find ones made in Paris, but then it's been a while since I went to look. My sisters' bags are in good shape though. Perhaps I got the dud in the line-up - it was actually bought in Paris, but made in China.
Got to get myself to Gap clearly. Because I definitely do not have enough skinny black jeans... Always on the hunt for the perfect ones. Denim-y enough not to be mistaken for leggings but stretchy enough to be able to fidget and curl up in in comfort. These look great. Love this outfit generally.
Chuck: Thanks, but these aren't jeans, just black trousers. I do like that they fit like skinny jeans though - they are like work appropriate variations of my skinny jeans.
