a cyclical dash of sparkle
I like this dress -
From the Chanel-Monte Carlo pre-fall collection (whatever that means), it's a great update of the sparkly, perfectly fitted gown stopping just at the ankle Coco Chanel did very well. Karl Lagerfeld did a dress like this for his haute coutute collection in 1996, which I adore.
It was based on an actual dress designed by Madame Chanel herself 1937, which she wore for a 1937 Cecil Beaton protrait.
They say fashion goes in circles, and cliched as it seems, it's nice to know that good ideas live eternal. Can a starlet please wear this dress for a very special occasion?
